Gas Service

What is Gas Fee?

Gas Fee, also known as Network Fee or Transaction Fee, is a small fee paid when using blockchain services, similar to a highway toll. Just like a car needs gasoline to run, any operation on the blockchain (such as transfers or executing smart contracts) requires Gas, representing the resources expended by the network to complete computations.

Why Do Gas Fees Exist?

Gas fees ensure the blockchain system operates smoothly like an efficient machine. They primarily serve to:

Reward Maintainers: Pay miners or validators to incentivize transaction processing and network security.

Prevent Abuse: Charge fees to avoid network congestion from spam transactions; complex operations cost more, simple ones less.

Enhance Security: The fee mechanism strengthens the system's resistance to attacks and reliability.

In short, network fees are essential for the blockchain's efficient and secure operation, enabling smooth and reliable transaction and data flow.

What is Gas Service?

Gas Service is a feature launched by Safeheron that allows users to complete on-chain transactions without directly holding native blockchain tokens (such as ETH, BNB, or MATIC).

Its core purpose is to solve the "Gas Shortage" issue: When a wallet lacks (or has insufficient) mainnet native tokens to pay network fees, transactions cannot proceed. Gas Service "supply" these fees, enabling transactions to continue.

How to Use Gas Service?

To use Safeheron Gas Service, go to Web Console > Tools > Gas Service for setup.

Prerequisites for Using Gas Service

Before using Gas Service, ensure the following setups are complete:

Set up Connect profile: Ensure your team has enabled Connect and configured your team profile.

Connect Gas Service profile: Link your Connect profile with Safeheron's Gas Service profile for deposit.

Configure transfer policy: In the Policy Engine, add USDT as a transfer asset (supported on TRON / Ethereum / BNB Smart Chain networks), and ensure the destination includes the Safeheron Gas Service profile.

Check wallet balance: Confirm your wallet has sufficient USDT balance for subsequent prepayment operations.

After completing these prerequisites, you can proceed with prepayment or configure alert thresholds.

Prepayment

To ensure seamless integration of Gas Service with your business, Safeheron Gas Service uses a prepayment model. You can pre-pay USDT based on actual business needs for future Gas supplements.

Deposit steps:

Select network: Gas Service currently supports USDT deposit on TRON, Ethereum, and BNB Smart Chain networks. After deposit, balances are displayed uniformly as USDT, without distinguishing source networks.

Select payment wallet: Choose a wallet for this deposit payment.

Enter deposit amount: Input the USDT amount to deposit. Double-check for accuracy.

Confirm deposit: Verify the network, payment wallet, and amount, then submit and complete confirmation.

Note: Gas Service does not currently support withdrawals; please confirm your deposit amount carefully.

Configure Alarm Threshold

If your team's Gas Service available balance falls below the configured alarm threshold, the team creator and administrators will receive email notifications. To avoid impacting Gas supplements for transactions, replenish funds promptly.

Auto Fuel Settings

To use Gas Service, complete both: Network Auto-Refuel Settings and Wallet Auto-Refuel Settings.

Network Auto Fuel Settings

Gas Service currently supports auto-refuel for the following 5 networks:

  • Ethereum Mainnet

  • TRON Mainnet

  • BNB Smart Chain Mainnet

  • Polygon Mainnet

  • Arbitrum One Mainnet

You can independently enable or disable Auto Fuel for each network based on business needs.

Note:​​ The TRON network is now fully live. For Auto Fuel on EVM networks (e.g., Ethereum), please contact Safeheron Support to enable.

Wallet Auto Fuel Settings

You can manage wallet auto fuel setting via:

Enable it during wallet creation in App or Web Console;

Modify existing wallet auto fuel settings in App;

Use API for batch management of wallet auto fuel properties.

​​Paying Network Fees with Gas Service​​

When you enable "Auto Fuel" for a specific network and wallet, the network fee for any transaction initiated from that wallet on the corresponding network will be automatically paid by the Gas Service, and the estimated fee will be displayed upfront.

View Gas Service Transaction Histories

In Gas Service, view all deposit and expenditure records. Filter by transaction ID, associated wallet, associated wallet's Account Key, transaction time, transaction type, etc., and download for reconciliation or auditing.

Q: Which assets does Gas Service support for deposit?

A: Currently, Gas Service supports prepaying USDT from TRON (Mainnet), BNB Smart Chain (Mainnet), and Ethereum (Mainnet). Support for more assets is ongoing.

Q: Which networks does Gas Service support for gas funding?

A: Currently, Gas Service supports gas funding for TRON (Mainnet), BNB Smart Chain (Mainnet), Ethereum (Mainnet), Arbitrum (Mainnet), and Polygon (Mainnet). Support for more networks is ongoing.

Q: Does enabling Gas Service require any additional fees?

A: Gas Service can be enabled for free, with no charges incurred.

Q: Why does TRON (Mainnet) Gas supplement generate two transaction orders?

A: According to the TRON network resource model, TRC20 token transfers consume both bandwidth and energy, resulting in two separate transaction histories.

Q: Why wasn’t Gas transfer performed during my transaction even though I have sufficient Gas Balance?

A: Please check whether the network of the token you are sending and the source wallet have Auto Fuel enabled. You can navigate to ​​Web Console > Gas Service > Network Auto Fuel Setting to view the network setting.

Q: How do I set a wallet as an Auto Fuel wallet?

A: You can set a wallet as an Auto Fuel wallet during creation in the App/Web Console, enable the feature for existing wallets in the App, or configure it via API.

Q: Why are gas fees higher when using the Gas Service on EVM networks?

A: When using the Gas Service to pay for gas fees, Safeheron will convert your gas balance into the native token required for gas payment and transfer it to the wallet address that needs gas refueling. This process incurs exchange fees and gas fees for transactions, which will be borne by you. As a result, the overall cost is slightly higher compared to paying directly with the native token in your address.

Q: How is Gas Service charged?

A: The Gas Service only deducts one asset per transaction.

Q: Why was the address balance deducted even when using the Gas Service?

A: The transaction will still be executed even if the Gas Service refuel fails. In this case, if your address holds a sufficient native balance, it will be used to pay for the gas.

Q: Why has the deposit status been updated as "Success" but not yet credited?

A: If the address you used to deposit is flagged as phishing or AML risks, even if the deposit is successful, the amount will not be credited to your Gas balance and will be displayed as "Reviewing."
